Dear students from Ukrainian Maritime Universities,
Academies and Institutes,
Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna, Bulgaria, is very much concerned about the escalation of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and the serious difficulties inflicted on the maritime education and training system.
Because of the war many students from the higher education maritime institutions in Ukraine, who conduct their nautical practice on board of merchant vessels, will not be able to return to their hometowns and educational establishments after completion of their practice.
Seafarers all over the world express solidarity and provide help to each other in difficult times. Higher maritime educational institutions worldwide are much interlinked and share common values and goals.
In this complicated situation Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy is ready to receive students from the Ukrainian Maritime Academies in order to provide conditions for continuation of their study and graduation.
With this decision Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy expects to slightly ease the tension and uncertainty of those Ukrainian students, created by the humanitarian crisis, and help them not to lose time in their education.
We are also ready to lend a helping hand to academic lecturers and instructors from the maritime academies.
We strongly support the Ukrainian people in their just struggle for the sovereignty and independence of their own country.
