On 01 July 2017 Flotilla Admiral Prof. Boyan Mednikarov took part in the official ceremony marking the graduation of the students completing their higher education at the Maritime Faculty of Istanbul Technical University, having been invited by its Dean, Prof. Oğuz Salim Söğüt.

Flotilla Admiral Prof. Boyan Mednikarov congratulated the graduates on getting their diplomas, as well as the International Day of the Seafarer, wishing them ‘fair winds, following seas, and 7 feet under the keel’.
