On the verge of the holiest Christian holiday celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, on 10 April 2017 Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy was visited by the Most Rev. Yoan, Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav.

In his address to the cadets, His Eminence thanked them for their diligent work on the cleaning around the churches in Varna, gave a blessing to the officers, cadets, enlisted and civilian employees, and said a heartfelt prayer for the strengthening of the faith, the welfare and the spiritual ascension of the Bulgarian people.
