On the eve of one of the holiest Christian holidays, the Rector of Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy Flotilla Admiral Prof. DSc Boyan Mednikarov visited Homeport Station Varna, which hosted a charity bazaar entitled Easter for All. The purpose of the event, which gathered service members and civilian employees from military units from the military district of Varna, mayors and deputy mayors of municipal districts, representatives of the local government and friends of Varna Homeport Station in the sports facility of the installation, was to render assistance to underprivileged children of their fellow service members.

The guests were greeted by the Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Mitko Petev, the Governor of the Province of Varna, Mr Todor Yotov, the Rev. Georgi Velikov from the Holy Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav, the Deputy Mayor of Varna Municipality, Mr Kosta Bazitov, and Ms Nadka Nikova from the town hall of Sushitsa. Members of the Folklore Rhythms dance club at Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy staged a short performance, after which the host of the event, Navy Captain Georgi Georgiev, formally opened the bazaar.

The counters of the charity bazaar abounded with hand-made souvenirs, unique items and delectable culinary creations by supporters of the cause from military units in the district of Varna and the enduring friends of Varna Homeport Station from the village of Sushitsa. The proceeds in the amount of BGN 3223.69 will be allotted and forwarded to the accounts of eight children in need.
