On 2 August 2016, an ad-hoc commission for the selection of the cadets from the class of 2016 to their new positions sat at Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy. The members of the commission were met by the Rector of the Academy – Commodore Prof. DSc Boyan Mednikarov, Captain Prof. Dr Kalin Kalinov – Vice Rector for Education and Research, and Captain Svetoslav Dimitranov – Vice Rector for Administration and Logistics.
Fourteen soon-to-be-commissioned cadets majoring in Navigation for the Navy, Ship Machinery for the Navy, Naval Communications and Radio Equipment Systems received their assignments to the units of the Navy of the Republic of Bulgaria. Two of the cadets from the class, trained for the system of the Ministry of the Interior, were given Ship Engineer positions and will work within the structures of Border Police in Varna and Burgas.
The commission was composed of:
- Mariela Dimcheva – Logistics for Human resource Management Department at the Human Resource Management Directorate at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria;
- Lieutenant Colonel Angel Kostov – Recruitment Department at the Human Resource Management Directorate, MoD;
- Lieutenant Colonel Milen Filev, Chief Expert at Education and Qualification Department at the Human Resource Management Directorate, MoD;
- Captain (N) Tsvetan Andreev – Deputy Chief at the Personnel Department at the Command of the Navy of the Republic of Bulgaria;
Commissary Svetlan Kichikov – Head of Border Police Vessel Base – Burgas, at the Chief Directorate of Border Police at the Ministry of the Interior.
