On 2 December 2016 the Christmas tree came alight on the campus of the Naval Academy to symbolise the forthcoming holidays of Christmas and New Year’s.

Commodore Prof. DSc Boyan Mednikarov, rector of Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, preformed the ritual of lighting the Christmas tree, which will bring joy to everybody until the first days of the new year.

The decorations consist of handmade Christmas ornaments, a gift from the students of the Private School of Languages and Kindergarten of the Little Prince – friends of the Naval Academy.
