The Rector of Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy – Flotilla Admiral Prof. DSC Boyan Mednikarov, paid a visit to the Maritime Univeristy of Piri Reis in Tuzla, Turkey. In the period from 10 to 13 January 2017, he had a number of meetings and held discussions with members of the academic leadership of the university, professors and colleagues. Professor Mednikarov was shown around the training facilities of the university and visited the training vessel used for providing practise at sea for the students and trainees. He also participated in a luncheon with members of the Turkish Chamber of Shipping. One of the purposes of his visit was for him to determine the actual capacity of the Turkish university for a future membership in the International Association of Maritime Universities.
