On 07 April 2017 the first group of Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy military cadets returned from their training onboard the motor/sailing vessel Orpheus. Their voyage was along the Bulgarian coast of the Black Sea.

Their training included elements of ship’s crew organisation. The cadets developed their practical habits for steering a vessel and operating the equipment onboard. They also kept watch both underway and at anchor, and practised elements from their lessons in safety at sea. The officer in charge of the training strictly adhered to the safety procedures.

The second group sets out on 10 April 2017 from the port in Varna.
